About Us

Bo Townsend, D.D.S.

Pediatric dentist Dr. Bo TownsendDr. Bo grew up in Clarksdale, Mississippi, 75 miles south of Memphis, TN. He graduated from Millsaps College in 1996, and attended dental school at The University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis from 1996-2000. After completing dental school, Dr. Bo and his family moved to Phoenix, AZ, where he worked in a dental office that primarily treated children. It was there that he discovered his passion for pediatric dentistry. Dr. Bo moved back to Memphis and completed an additional two year residency program to specialize in pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Bo has treated children from around the world. He wants all children to have the opportunity for good oral care and to learn that going to the dentist is not a scary experience. He has been a part of several mission trips to help kids in pain and to spread the love of Jesus Christ. In 2000, Dr. Bo went on his first trip to Russia; in 2002, he went to Chile; in 2004, Africa; and in 2007, Nicaragua. All of these children are gifts…. Therefore, the office belief is “Children are a gift from the Lord.” Psalm 127:3

Dr. Bo is active in the dental profession. He has a specialty license to practice pediatric dentistry in Tennessee and he is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), and the Tennessee Dental Association (TDA).

Dr. Bo has three little girls Marley, Emory and Reed. He loves being a daddy and spending time with his girls. There is nothing like walking in the door at home and hearing “Yeah, Daddy’s home!!!” Dr. Bo does enjoy hunting and fishing. One of Emory’s first words was deer. Dr. Bo’s wife Minette works with him in the practice. They are members at Cokesbury United Methodist Church.

Jared Lee, D.M.D.

Pediatric dentist Dr. Jared LeeDr. Lee was born and raised in the mountains of Harlan, Ky. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2006 and went on to complete his dental training there in 2011. During his time at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, Dr. Lee took part in 3 dental mission trips to Honduras to share the good news of Jesus. It was there where he realized his passion and gift for working with children. After dental school, Dr. Lee trained at the University of Texas Health Science Center- San Antonio and completed his two year specialty program in pediatric dentistry in 2013.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Tennessee Dental Association, and has a specialty license to practice pediatric dentistry in Tennessee. Dr. Lee has earned the title Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Lee is married to Mary Hannah, and they have three children. Anabelle, Eden and a son, Silas. He loves spending time with his family, and has successfully brainwashed them into becoming Kentucky Wildcat fans (Go Vols too!). Dr. Lee enjoys playing guitar and piano, and anything involving sports and outdoors. He has a heart for dental missions and hopes to continue to serve those in need both close to home and abroad. Dr. Lee loves Knoxville and feels very blessed by God to be able to do His work here in this wonderful community. He and his wife are members at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church.


James Wood, D.D.S.

Pediatric dentist Dr. James WoodDr. Wood is originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2004 with a B.S. in Biochemistry. He then went on to the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis where he graduated with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2008. Dr. Wood came back to Knoxville in the fall of 2008 and has practiced in Knoxville since dental school. Dr. Wood trained in areas of oral surgery, prosthodontics, and endodontics, but came to realize that working in pediatrics was his calling. His goal in dentistry is to ensure a positive experience and working environment that will encourage good dental health in children for their future. He enjoys outdoor activities such as fly fishing, hiking, and camping. He also enjoys automotive work and restoring antique cars.


Stephen Fowler, D.M.D.

Pediatric dentist Dr. FowlerDr. Fowler was born and raised in Richmond, Kentucky. He graduated from Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY and attended The University of Kentucky College of Dentistry from 2007-2011. After completing a 1-year residency in General Practice Dentistry at the University of Kentucky he discovered a passion working with children. He finds it rewarding to help kids through a fear of the dentist. He has had the opportunity to participate in a medical mission trip to Haiti. Dr. Fowler and his wife, Sarah, moved to Knoxville, TN in 2013 and are proud to call East Tennessee home. He enjoys playing golf, guitar and spending time with his family.


Edgar G. French, D.D.S.

Pediatric dentist Dr. Edgar G. FrenchOriginally from Maryville, Dr. French graduated with a BS from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and from the U.T. College Of Dentistry at Memphis. He then spent two years with the U.S. Air Force and two years with the U.S. Public Health Service at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. He had his own practice in Maryville for many years before relocating to Knoxville. He has two children and three grandchildren. His interests and activities include music, hiking, bicycling, motorcycling, world affairs, and ancient history. Dr. French very much enjoys working with children as patients and wants to give them a positive impression of dentistry and its role in overall health.



Dr. Bo and Dr. Lee have an amazing team, who all understand the importance of making sure each and every child is happy and comfortable. Each staff member has helped make Knoxville Pediatric Dentistry a fun place, and Dr. Bo and Dr. Lee feel truly blessed to work with such an excellent team. Come meet them!
