Dr. Ramya Hegde

Dr. Ramya grew up in a sunny coastal town in South India, where a kind and funny orthodontist helped her overcome dental anxiety—and sparked her dream of becoming a dentist. She earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from JSS Dental College in India, gained valuable clinical experience serving her community, and later completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University at Buffalo in New York.

After graduation, she spent five wonderful years at a pediatric dental practice in Washington State, where she helped children feel confident about their smiles and comfortable in the dental chair. Dr. Ramya believes that kids bring honesty, laughter, and joy to every visit—and that a little fun can go a long way in creating a positive dental experience. She also values open communication with parents and enjoys learning about each family’s unique approach to oral health.

Now, she’s thrilled to bring her clinical experience, passion for pediatric dentistry, and “gift of gab” to Knoxville Pediatric Dentistry! Outside the office, Dr. Ramya enjoys adventures with her energetic toddler and husband, hiking, nature photography, and volunteering at a local dog rescue on weekends.
